Zac Efron has been granted a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, 17 years after he appeared in the global phenomenon, High School Musical. Of course, he couldn’t forget to thank the Wildcats.

The movie star made a speech as he took to the famous Red Carpet to unveil the prestigious award. He also paid tribute to his costar and friend, Matthew Perry, who sadly passed away in October.

Zac Efron’s Hollywood Star speech has High School Musical fans ‘crying’

In attendance at the Disney alum’s speech were HSM director and producer, Kenny Ortega Bill Borden, who received a special shout-out.

“You guys were both instrumental in giving me my start in High School Musical,” the 36-year-old said. “For that, I am eternally, eternally grateful, you have no idea.”

He then admitted he still “thinks about it every day,” and made the adorable revelation he sings the songs in the shower. Hilariously, someone in the crowd shouted: “Me too!” We can also relate.

“Go Wildcats!” he exclaimed, which sent HSM fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, into a meltdown.

“Zac Efron saying go wildcats’ and that he sings high school musical songs in the shower got me crying like a loser right now omg,” wrote one.

Another exclaimed: “STOP I’M EMOTIONAL!”

“I will always have a crush on him and I’m not sorry,” wrote one.

Zac Efron, who played Troy Bolton in the franchise, was joined alongside on-screen, and off-screen girlfriend at one point, Vanessa Hudgens.

The two dated from 2005 to 2010. Vanessa has also been making big movements lately, as she tied the knot with baseball star Cole Tuker.

Zac also paid tribute to his 17 Again co-star in his speech, who passed away in October after an apparent drowning in his jacuzzi.

“I really want to mention someone who’s not here today, and that’s Matthew Perry,” the star began. “Who was so kind and generous to me when we worked on 17 Again.”

“Collaborating with him… it was so much fun and it really did propel me and motivate me in so many ways. It really pushed me into the next chapter of my career, for that, thank you so much, Matthew.

“Thinking about you a lot today,” he concluded.
